Neutrex Receives "E-Award" for Exporting of Purgex® Purging Compounds
Presented by President Bush in White House Ceremony May 20th
(MAY 2008) - In a ceremony held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 at the White House, President George W. Bush presented the President's E-Award Certificate for Exports to Arthur Haag, President of Neutrex, Inc., Houston, Texas. Neutrex manufactures Purgex commercial purging compounds and earned the award for its achievement in supporting export growth in the United States business community. The company exports its products through distributors in North and South America, Europe and Asia and is exploring opportunities in Africa and Australia.
According to Carlos M. Gutierrez, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce, who also presented the award, "Neutrex has demonstrated a sustained commitment to export expansion."
Noting that from 2004 through 2007 Neutrex has doubled its export sales of Purgex, the Secretary added, "Your resource dedication to the exporting process is particularly noteworthy and has led to considerable success for your company."
As described by the Commerce Department, "The President's E-Award was created by Executive Order of the President on December 5, 1961, to afford suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase United States exports."
The Purgex line of commercial purging compounds includes four specialized compounds for cleaning thermoplastic injection molding, extrusion, and blow molding processing machinery during resin, color and formulation changes, and to remove residual contamination from the machine. The company states that Purgex effectively cleans hot runner systems and safely purges downstream equipment. This results in less wasted resin, fewer parts rejects, and a superior cost-to-performance ratio for the plastics processor, according to Neutrex.
The company was founded in 1992 by Haag, who previously held executive positions with Phillips Petroleum Company, Dart Industries and Dow Chemical, as well as serving as president and co-founder of PureChem Corporation, CytoDiaganostics, and Diablo Metals. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Haag served two years on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps and began his career as a chemical engineer of Stauffer Chemical Company. He has received numerous awards in the chemical industry and holds four patents. Early in his career, Haag pioneered the development and commercialization of specialty titanium catalysts, unique chemicals instrumental in the rapid growth of the polyolefin plastics industry.
